since i've been out of town, and school rose up and hit me between the eyes, it's save to say that Hanami and NanoWrimo lost their momentum.

So here's my token resistence to giving up:

A Drabble is an extremely short work of fiction with exactly one hundred words. The purpose of the drabble is brevity and to test author's ability to express interesting and meaningful ideas in an extremely confined space.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Walking through the sewer, Leonardo pulled up short---" What if our lives are nothing but episodic adventures written by authors who delight in pitting us against an increasingly violent host of threats?”
Raphael’s eyebrows climbed. "Did you get into last year’s Halloween candy?"
"No! You dared Mike to eat it all last month, remember? He's still not recovered."
Mike tittered. "Left-sided cats, Mr. Cubby!"
Donatello pulled on Mike's safety harness. "Yeah well, he's had his walk. Can we go get dinner yet?"
Leonardo smiled. "Yes, dinner sounds wonderful."
"Aluminum stilts!" chimed Mike.
Raph patted Mike's shoulder. "Sure thing, bro."
and the graph.
oh. and i saw berlioz's tail without the bandage.... it was deep and bloody and dangly and he was crying and it flopped around as he tried to move... it HAS to be amputated.
Sorry about your kitty.
It's ridiculous that it costs so much to amputate tho....
that's the upper limit. i'm hoping we stay closer to the LOWER one: $700. still not pretty.
Awwwww! Poor Berli. I wish he hadn't gotten out and hope he recovers quickly.
i went by the vet's the evening before they closed. they wouldn't let me visit him, but i did get to hear from some one who'd JUST walked back and checked on him, that he had woken from the anesthetia and was currently hiding under his blankie.
he's a smart kitty. if i woke up with parts of me missing, i'd be hiding too.
Poor kitty! He'll be okay once he heals from the amputation, but that's not something you want happening to your kitty. I guess at least it was a tail and not a leg?
indeed. i'm sad about it b/c his tail was one of his crowning glories. he's a long-limbed, long-haired black cat that's more of a deep red-brown in some lights. His plume-y tail was just hallmark berlioz.
but.
it's cosmetic.
and HE's still with me. AND the vet has ruled out the heart murmur thing. so as soon as we finish with the healing of thing thing... he's a-okay.
just... slightly stumpy.
