thank you! but i prodded a the [livejournal.com profile] plants community and [livejournal.com profile] thequestionclub community and both hit it at almost the exact same time.

it's an Aucuba Japonica. I added an Edit to this post. Kitty just ate dinner with pleasure and he's loafing and purring and drooling slightly less.

Oh whew! Glad he's eating -- that's a good sign!
Once Smiley Turtle snapped a honeybee off a clover blossom and he drooled and foamed all the way to vets. Scared us to death. Stopped as soon as we got to the vet, of course.....

And now that the crisis is past-- wow-- that is *pretty* ring! =oD
