Geez, you can't rely on me for squat when it comes to staying in contact with these journal things.

Kevin and I are doing well. Since last I posted:

1. Been in a car wreck. My passengers & I are all fine. We were rear-ended at a stoplight, so the whole thing is not our fault and everyone's insurance is fighting it out. We've been paid minus the deductible, so they can take their time.

2. Got a new car. The old one's bumper rolled up into its trunk and it had no tail lights.

3. Got a promotion at work. I'm handling a huge new account. Then I got moved over to a different huge new account b/c things keep changing at work. Unsettling, but my job is secure, so I'll roll with it.

4. Concluded 2010 convention season with 17 shows in 12 months under our belt. Liked it well enough that we've booked 22+ new conventions for 2011. We've done 3 so far and the fourth is coming up in mid-March. You can see all of our confirmed shows at the new page on our website: Convention Appearances. We've only put up the ones that are 100% solid.

5. We're getting invited to shows as guests now--Zenkaikon has invited us to their show in March! It'll run March 18, 19, & 20 in King of Prussia, PA--a Philadelphia suburb and swanky neighborhood. Oo La la!

6. Back in mid-February, Kevin and I went off to Katsucon, where Kevin was a guest for their webcomics section & I was a volunteer. We had a grand time, met awesome people, floated like butterflies, and stung like bees, cause that's what you do.

Katsucon made us a sign! Kevin is here, modeling it. PERFECT FIT FOR SHY ARTIST! :D (You know it's my Kevin because the hair matches.)

I volunteered to help with Katsucon webcomics guest relations this year. I was Kevin's guest liaison. (Never again. That guy expected KISSES. Some people, I swear. They put a ring on your finger and expect all kinds of favors. ;P )

But I was also the guest liaison for these folks, Onezumi & Harknell of 'Stupid & Insane Defenders Against Chaos' and 'Intervention: Internet Convention.' They were very sweet, did NOT expect kisses, and had a whole table of awesome plushie mascot owls!

Kevin and our new friend Rockin' got to hang out under that sign that Katsucon made us. Rock on, Rockin'. Rock on.

Mirror-verse ENSIGN SUE showed up at our booth! She was magnificent, dominating, and powerful. Her evil was potent and hit us like an eightball right into the corner pocket. How could we resist her?!

...We were HELPLESS...

It's actually Kara Dennison, don't be scared! Here's her webcomics and art!

PSST!, Clare, look at what your writing has inspired!

I do not know her name, but she came into our lives like a comet. She requested a self-portrait commission. Then she posed like a fighting mantis and snarled like a tiger. America cannot win the future--BECAUSE THIS GIRL HAS ALREADY WON IT.

We met Pidge back at AnimeUSA 2010 and were utterly awed by her Dalek cosplay. Kevin got her permission to do art based on her design. As fate would have it--the con where we premiered the Dalek-Girl print was the very next one where we bumped into Pidge again! The blue lens and yellow cones on her hat light up--my photo kinda washes that out. Isn't she awesome?! (You're the best, Pidge!)

Here's a link to the art.

Random, I know, but humor me. We're surrounded for a good quarter mile by nothing but hardcore anime-fans and WATER. And suddenly? A SWEET TOOTH COSPLAYER! Vertigo represent!

Zenkaikon had a booth at Katsucon this year. They're going into their 5th year as a show. They're expanding to 3 days from 2 days. And they were also the very first show to invite us as guests (March 18-20 near Philly)!

Matilda is their Grand Poobah and she runs a tight ship. She's unfortunately not pictured here, because she always managed to disappear when I had a camera. However, she was always present when I had my chipmunk finger puppet, DJ Gatwick, and really. That's what counts.

Some of Kevin's art for AnimeUSA 2011 made its debut at this convention! Alison was kind enough to let me get photos on their booth. Their theme this year is Honor & Duty, and as you can see, he's doing some really fun stuff for them!

It's happening this November in Crystal City, VA. Mark your calendars. :D

We met a most excellent collection of artists called Tangent Artists. They have three different webcomics running through their site, and pure fire running through their veins. I got to talk and dance around with "Crazy" Dave Joria quite a bit over the weekend. Man's got moves.

Lastly... We had a SWEET Princess Daisy cosplayer come by the booth. Princess Daisy was so nice! She humored me and delivered some of the her most memorable lines, a real 'greatest hits parade!' Check her out. (Thanks, Becky B! You rock!)

So yeah, we had a sensational time. In no small part due to the herculean efforts of the staff at Katsucon. Kris, Danny, Liz, Moria, you guys were 100% solid gold. Thank you!

P.S. I'm so far behind on everything, but I swear I read my comments. Y'all're busy bees--and I hope you're doing well right now. Heck, I'm just gonna ask. How're you doing?
