Why? There's a goofy "Vintage Hollywood" themed TMNT Community/Meme/collaboration thing going on Deviantart: MoulinMutantRevue. There's OC's and Canons and great artists and fledgling artists and it's no where near the submission deadline (Aug 28th), so not everyone's uploaded their pledged characters. But I was going out of my gourd with the need to do more art.

So. This is 1 of 3 total Marx Mutant Frogs: Harpo and Chico are in the works.

And I am intrigued by this web novella. Not far enough into it to rave about it yet, but I am hooked enough to continue reading. There are were-horses and an infected surface world.

I don't think I set my filters up properly on LJ, so to keep from spoiling stuff, I'm just gonna post this here on dreamwidth.

I mentioned in my last post that I did some turtle fanart to be used for making awards certificates for a fanfiction competition. Here's the art, not the completed certificate:

Pencil drawing, no inks. Cell shading with a mouse. No turtle in particular. Holding one of those throwing blades from Movie 4.

1. Pick a character, pairing, or fandom you like.
2. Turn your music player on and turn it on random/shuffle.
3. Write a drabblet/ficlet related to each song that plays. You only have the time frame of the song to finish the drabble; you start when the song starts, and stop when it's over. No lingering afterward! No matter how whacked out your drabble is. :)
4. Do ten of these, then post them.

I've seen the TMNT movie 3 times now. It appears I'll be seeing it again tonight. I'm NOT complaining. So many others have done exhaustive, fan-spangled reviews of the film. I'm inclined to just say, "I really liked it. My inner fan is sated. But April should not be able to take Karai in a straight fight. And Don should have had more/better lines. That is all. Now pardon me, while i go watch it AGAIN! AGAIN! AGAIN!"

That's pretty much as much as I wanna say about it.


The "ONOZ" icon is for my newest acquisition.

It's not even MINE. It's for the store. But i'm such a proprietary person... i get quite belligerent about things that i perceive myself to be the caretaker of. Especially when i know in my heart of hearts that the object/person/place is not mine and i DO have to share it/them with others who probably will NOT take care of it as well OR in the EXACT SAME WAY as i do. Talk about a self-discovered hang up. I'm sure folks who know me have known that about me for years. But this is my first time 'saying it outloud' so to speak...

having said all that...
I'm pissy that this new acquisition: a DELL LATITUDE LAPTOP COMPUTER... (i'm so excited!)... has been through so much rough treatment. It was previously owned by the friendly neighborhood dumbfuck: Crazy Chris. Then it was purchased by my boss. I DO love my boss, but computer-savy he is NOT. This poor machine was crawling in Trojan horses, spyware, and clutter. There were 3 different "users" set up on the machine (Win XP) with identical stuff in each. There were 5 shortcuts to Internet explorers on the desktop... scattered in with about 30 other miscellaneous files, shortcuts, and installer programs. The virus checker hadn't been run since 2005, and its last update was probably when it was installed in 2003.

HOW CAN YOU LET YOUR COMPUTER CHOKE LIKE THAT?!

I've saved important data, weeded out the extra crap, updated the security features, ran the security features, actually DELETED the viruses found in 'quarantine,' installed firefox, hunted down manual removal directions for the grayware infesting the machine, and generally freed up about 3 gigs of space. I'll be weeding through the 'my documents' and throwing out anything that belonged to Crazy Chris.

The machine's gonna need a new video card soon, and the now AUTOMATIC updates to the PC-cillin will expire in a handful of days, so that requires renewal.


but i'm starting to act like it's my baby. like i do with the store. it's NOT mine. I'm just the control freak that it's been LENT to. MUST REMEMBER!! NOT MINE!!

*weeps* it nearly chokes the machine to open the folder... moving the whole folder to the recycling bin just took 2 minutes. this is a NICE laptop! an EXPENSIVE machine! WHHHHY?!

my film teacher is also a movie reviewer for the big name newspaper around here. He's also one of my comic book store customers. He knows i'm looped over pretty much anything 'on a halfshell'... so he got me and my boyfriend into the sneak preview of TMNT this Sunday Morning.

Sure, it's not as EARLY as the PREMIERE... but who's got the money to go to CA? (Other than that girl from Detroit? ...uh...and the folks who LIVE in CA...)

There are no spoiler warnings, b/c there are no spoilers. Not from me. I loved it, and I want you to love it and be surprised by it and thrilled with it as I was. I've ONE canon-based 'beef' with the film... but 1. i won't discuss it until after the movie is out for EVERYONE. and 2. it's a teeeny-weeeny tiny thing.
