BUZZ BUZZ Once There Was...

( Cut for Fill-In-The-Bubble-Comic )

The comic under the cut is the art I donated for Farpoint 2010's Charity Strip Off featuring the convention's mascot, FARP. (Fully Automated Robotic Participant was designed by Todd F. Brugmans.) I and a few other artists made these blank strips that attendees can use to customize their own comics in exchange for a donation to one of the sponsored charities: Julien Fleming Memorial Fund or Vietnam Veterans of America.

If you'd like to try your hand at coloring and filling in dialogue on this one for fun, feel free. Just be sure to comment here with the results because I wanna seeeee.



In creating the comic up there, I drew my first daleks. That ought to be a baby book: My First Dalek. See dalek. See dalek roll. Exterminate! Exterminate! Oh dear. Stairs.

In the comic for Far Point, the daleks didn't fit entirely in the panels. So I did something else so you could see them 'full body' as it were. This is it. Mostly I love the little flailing dalek. I want it as an animated gif.


Also, there is more snow than any sensible person could want. My four-foot fence is gone.

Also, I spent 3.5 HOURS digging out the driveway and the car. There was 2.5 feet on the ground... and 2 on the car... so if you knock the stuff off the car, I shoveled 4.5 feet of snow! YAAAAAY. *weeps* I got to the gate in the back, but not across my yard to my ACTUAL DOORS. So we're still snowed in on the backside. You've gotta go out our front door and around the row of houses down to the alley then down to our car b/c all our doors OPEN INWARD and are under 3 foot drifts! :D

OH. And Baltimore City. It's been three days. WHERE ARE THE PLOWS, YOU ASSHOLES?! The old man next door needed to get to the hospital for his dialysis, called an ambulance, who told him they couldn't come and asked him to meet them on a plowed street 2 blocks down. We had neighbors offer to sled him there on an air mattress, but he refused... AND FELL. He luckily didn't break anything, but they loaded him up and sledded him down to meet his ambulance.

It looks like they're offering a whole community with access to standard tutorials, contests, web comics, animatated comics, brushes, textures, and photoshop
scripts. Very interesting. If that is your bag, check them out!

The logo thing I was meant to be putting together has officially kicked me in the teeth. I learned some neat photoshop stuff, but ultimately everything I did was crap. The flushing noise is the sound of several hours of wasted effort. (Minus the 15 minute sanity-break that brought you my last post about groceries and animal criminals.)

So, to celebrate the fact that I am exhausted with nothing to show for it, here's a weird "Famous People I Might or Might Not Resemble Collage." You will see this program has managed to find EVERY PAIR OF GLASSES LIKE MINE IN HOLLYWOOD. ( Including Larry King's )

I have nothing else important to say. However, if you draw me a criminal animal, I will draw you its accomplice. If you have fun doing this, post it to your journal and see what kind of animal crime wave you get in your comments. They cannot be reasoned with! They are not human!

So, recently we've had a number of folks stealing the "Mature Content" image from our Mature webcomic. No credit. No link-back. No 'saving it to their own hosting site.' Just stealin' our bandwidth and putting it on sites where they claim copyright for all contents.

One of them has already complied with my polite request that they remove the image.

The other is on one of those stupid myspace-knock-off sites where you need an account to communicate with people. So... we've decided to replace the image with another one that will encourage them to quit hotlinking on their own. And be branded as thieves until they do.

Under the cut, my art-theft deterrent...( NOT WORK SAFE AT ALL!! )

EDIT:It's been installed on our site, here's a screen shot of it hotlinked on their terrible page. (NSFW) Also, they've already noticed it and removed it. Poo. ;)

They don't have the sense of design the divine gave to a dead goat's colon. It's loads of spinning gifs and half-naked photos of this blonde lady named "Linda." Oh and there's some classy "Why the Hell do I have to dial '1' for English?!" bullshit on top of an American flag. Classy. I can hardly wait.

So, most of you already know Kevin, my fiance. At the end of this month, he's getting on a bus for New York City to try and bring home some contracts through the Society for Children's Book Writers & Illustrators portfolio competition.

He's doing art commissions to raise money for the trip. (He's staying with friends, but food, the cost of attending, and getting his portfolio done up all NYC-bound-in-a-book style are big items).

He'll be taking commissions until the end of the month. Any character you like (for real people/animals/etc, MMO/RP characters, or OCs, please send a reference). You can check out his gallery for an idea of what he does here. He draws everything from scary to voluptuous to epic to mutant:


Here's the breakdown:

$10 per character B&W inked drawing
$20 per character full color in marker

plus 3$ for shipping the art to you (unless you're local and we can hand it to you). He will also be posting them on his deviantart account for all to see.

He has 20 slots open. He plans on shipping them all out before he leaves for NY on the 28th. If all 20 slots are filled and finished and he has time to do more, he will open an additional 5-10 slots.
