Okay. So:

1. Life is amazing.

2. SIMON PEGG TWEETED MY FIANCE'S COMIC OMG Like seriously, the man I love, Kevin Bolk, and my dear friend, Clare Moseley, collaborated as an artist/writer team and made Ensign Sue Must Die which is a 32-strip web-mini-comic posted on dA under Clare's account and on Kevin and my studio webcomics site. And since today's strip has Simon Pegg as Scotty... OH GOD TWEETED BY SIMON PEGG *flail!*

3. I put off preparing for Artscape until the last minute. ha ha ha. But our first wave of books are back from the printer and our second set will be ready Wednesday. Gotta get our print inventory sorted and restocked, arrange transport/booth folks/booth supplies, and get our accounting straight!

4. NOT gonna put off prepping for Otakon! MEET ME THERE. HERE'S A MAP. No, really, scroll down. We're the red booth that doesn't move around. OOOOOOOOOTAAAAAAAAAKOOOOOON!!

We should have our Weegie Shirts by then. They've agreed to let me teach a workshop on running an artist alley table at the con! It's tentatively scheduled for Saturday in the late afternoon (Artist Alley 101) but may run again on Sunday morning if they need me at 9am!

5. Job is good. Meeting loads of cool artists, reading lots of comic books, and I'm very happy. I tend to work late and I know I'm not paid very well, but being happy counts for SO MUCH.

Why? There's a goofy "Vintage Hollywood" themed TMNT Community/Meme/collaboration thing going on Deviantart: MoulinMutantRevue. There's OC's and Canons and great artists and fledgling artists and it's no where near the submission deadline (Aug 28th), so not everyone's uploaded their pledged characters. But I was going out of my gourd with the need to do more art.

So. This is 1 of 3 total Marx Mutant Frogs: Harpo and Chico are in the works.

Say the magic words and the frogs come down!

1. Windup Flyers -- make them, print them, paper Baltimore with them. You could lose a day to this alone.

2. Clean the house and prep for Clare's visit! -- Hey Blake? She arrives Wednesday. Is there anyway we could borrow the air mattress?

3. Grocery shop -- Food reserves are low. Again.

4. Unpack all the stuff from Tekkoshocon. Crunch numbers, count inventory, take stock, repack, do a print run to Annapolis.

5. Return Kevin's Gma's car. Requires both of us so he can get home.

6. POST ABOUT THE FREAKING PARTY. What party?! The party for Kevin/Clare/Hawk/My Birthday. Holy Bug-butts. IT'S SOON!!! We're doing it on APRIL 24th starting at 3pm going to whenever, bring some potluck. We've only posted about it over on Facebook and that's not nearly enough to get the word out! Kevin and I are turning 30. Go us.

7. Prep Comics for the week before the 16th and the week directly after the 16th b/c we're not going to want to do them while Clare is in town OR while we're running around for party.

8. Prep for TMODE on the 16th-18th.

9. Reply to OTAKON's PANEL QUESTIONS--ALSO APPLY FOR ONE MORE PANEL!

10. Put together power point for TMODE. Also handouts.

WINDUP COMIC FEST 2010

The Windup Comic Fest is a one-day sequential art event, held twice a year in Baltimore at The Windup Space. Indie comic book artists and comic book stores set up shop for an afternoon of comic awesomeness.

There is no cover charge. The Windup Comics Fest is an all-ages event. Alcohol is available for guests 21 and older. Parking is on-street, or in one of two nearby garages.

MAY 22, 2010. 2pm - 7pm. 12 West North Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21201

The job's going well. I'm more comfortable with the commute than I thought I would be. I'm rolling in free books. I'm enjoying my cube.

On the home-front, I'm way far behind on a bunch of stuff, but I've got high hopes for tomorrow!

I am an incredibly, ridiculously lucky human being. So lucky in fact that it gives me hysterical giggles if I think on it too long.

1. I got the job. OMG. Like, with a salary and benefits. It starts up next week, and I'm waffling between quiet panic and utter lethargy. The lucky part? It took me a week. From 'deciding I needed a job' until acceptance letter. WTF?! I DON'T KNOW, BUT I AM SO GRATEFUL.

2. My house is not on fire. The house across the street caught fire. I live in a TOWN HOUSE. The whole neighborhood is just back to back to back to back... and the place two doors down and one strip of asphalt away was ablaze. My home, my cats, important federal documents that say I'm allowed to work at the new job I just got? All of them are FINE. The lucky part? Because it's RAINING TONIGHT. There was only one unit burned, and thankfully for the neighbors, they weren't home--no injuries!

3. My fiance and his extended family rock. Don't get me wrong, I've got awesome folks in my own gene pool, but it's wonderful to be in love with someone who's not tied to a fresh batch of crazy. You know how many families out there are the 'family values' version of spastic, rabid weasels in a sack? My whole family's been incredibly supportive and generous, but I want a special spotlight on the basic sanity of my family-to-be.

4. We got space at AnimeBoston! 2 feet. BUT IT'S SOMETHING! I'd already told Boston friends we couldn't go--and into my inbox pops the offer! I'll be tied down with the new job, but that wonderful fiance of mine will be there with 2 foot worth of inventory. ;P

5. Our panels got approved at Tekkoshocon! That's badges in the bag and a chance to really talk to folks! :D ROCK! Again, I've gotta stay home thanks to new job, but I'm not the only one in the studio who can give panels on the topics we picked, so we're covered.

6. I have kickass friends who animate my goofy drawings for me: THANK YOU, REI!


Lucky me is going to bed. I MUST REMEMBER THIS FEELING WHEN I WAKE UP TOMORROW. I don't know what my malfunction is, but I'm always more focused and determined at night when I should crash and not in the morning when I need some fire to seize the day.

February 12, 13, & 14 (Happy Valentine's Day!), we were in Timonium at Far Point 2010!

Thanks to our friends at RobotMartini.com, Gavin & Griff, we were introduced to a most excellent gentleman, Eli, with the Far Point programming department. Eli graciously incorporated us into Far Point's brand new "Do-It-Yourself" track, and welcomed us to do all kinds of panels.

We even worked with Eli and other local comic artists to set up a brand new philanthropic event, THE CHARITY STRIP-OFF. :D
